I took the sake sommelier course with Sandra and it was definitely worth it. I learned a lot about sake such as the different styles, the different aromas in sake and how temperature affects those aromas. We also talked about how to pair sake with food which I found very interesting and enjoyable. I highly recommend this course to anyone who is interested in learning about sake.
This is the second course I have completed with Sandra on my Sake journey. I found that the information was easy to understand and that Sandra has a great way of making students understand how to give tasting feedback with confidence. I went in thinking I don’t know dry from sweet and came out the other end knowing it and then telling others about it too! Highly recommend for people wanting that in depth knowledge of sake! I look forward to doing the next level!
The course was very engaging and allowed to deepen my knowledge of sake brewing and the importance of having good sake service. Sandra really brought to life the abundance that Japanese Sake has to offer. I thoroughly enjoyed the fact we got to taste 12 different sakes which allowed me to sharpen my palate and try out different sake styles.

Hi Sandra, It was pleasure taking your course in person in Sydney at the end of July. Even though I felt 2 days course was a bit short, it was a great opportunity to take your physical course after taking your online course back in May because the contents that we learned on that day was in-depth and informative. Especially, we were able to try a wide range of sake in the physical class and that helped students a lot to learn about differences among each sake. I would like to thank you for the amazing experience, I had on Sunday and Monday. It was the most amazing beverage couse product, I have followed so far in my carrier and I have been in the industry for more than 40 years. It was innovative, well presented and passionate. It made the group feel special and your enthusiasm and energy made it even more special. The content of the course was well detailed, with theory and tasting sessions with surprise curriculum by taking the group to extra technical presentation of sake and food matching to restaurant after the course in the evening. As a group bonded due to your passion and will remain saké friends for a long time. Sandra, I would like to thank you for your knowledge about the industry and how you give your sake fever to others for the benefit of the industry. The course had plenty of depth and was well presented, I also suggest by starting an hour early would unable the participants to digest the content at a slower space. Your content for the course is in-depth and you made sure that everyone understood the content so we would succeed with the exam. The sake and food pairing with cheese and chocolate help me to understand the sake matching with non traditional Japanese food. The restaurant experience is a must and good practice. To understand the basic and raise the standard of what a future sake sommelier role is. I also think a class size of 6 people is better for interaction between the groups especially when we gave feedback back on the sake. It was a great learning experience to listen to follow students because we were from different age and backgrounds. Especially when it came to describe the aroma, taste and food match to a sake. The location was perfect for everyone, it was very central, the room was intimate and perfect for the group to follow. Also, getting the course content notes after registration was a great way to learn and get familiar with the Japanese terminology of sake products. It is a new language if you are not from Japan and it the concept of learning take time. The sommelier sake educator association are so lucky to have a dedicated person like yourself to promote this industry and hope will lead for you to get one day an honorary title. I would suggest to do this course if you want to become a sake professional. Great foundation for it.
This course got me off the ground to start learning more about sake. My introductory course commenced at the end of April, and it built the basic information about sake with sake tasting kits. Even though I am Japanese, it was really a good idea to learn about sake in English because I passed the knowledge that I had just obtained on to customers at a restaurant where I work straight away. Keen to continue learning more about sake in the future.
The in-person course is absolutely wonderful. I had opportunity to understand the key basics of sake. Most importantly, the tasting samples are carefully selected to be neither too simple (and hence cannot show the contrast) nor too complicated (and hence confuse students). Sandra is a wonderful educator. I've got all encouragement from her to build up the knowledge. It can easily see her passion in the course. This is an amazing experience I have.
After being to several of the sake dinners that Sandra has organized, I finally took the plunge and did the online sake professional course, and it was a wonderful experience. Putting into practice things that Sandra & I have discussed at her dinners or her shop, learning new skills and getting a greater appreciation for the effort she puts in with her dinners, Sandra is a brilliant educator, and the course is very fun and satisfying. I can't recommend taking one of her online courses enough, and I look forward to continuing my education with her!
Managed to meet Sandra online for the Sake course last week. Sandra was very accomdating with schedule and timing that made the whole experience awesome. A fantastic look into the world of sake ending with a guidance into tasting a few different sakes and their paring.
My training sessions were amazing💛 I did Introductory Sake Professional course with Sandra. It was my first experience of learning Sake and I liked her session because it was clear to understand the knowledge of Sake. Also, I had extra sessions with her which were additional and more practical-driven for six weeks. I believe that her organisation of training is definitely valuable and remarkable compared to other Sake educators.☺️ The sessions made me confident and I am excited to work with the knowledge and skills that learned from the sessions with her.🍶✨ Thank you so much for training me and organising sessions even though I live in Melbourne.

Disbelief to know an expert like Sandra is here in Perth ! Her classes are interactive, knowledgeable and most importantly FUN. Learned heaps from the start to finish of the sake craft process. Absolutely wonderful experience. I had always wanted to try a Sake that was right for me and now I have thanks to Sandra. She is so knowledgeable and really into her craft of Sake. I will be returning for another bottle very soon. Adam
I’ve known Sandra for a while now and I can think of no other person that can invariably match her knowledge, enthusiasm and continual advocacy for the promotion of Japanese sake in Australia. She has introduced me to entire world of sake and opened my eyes to how fascinatingly multidimensional Japan’s national beverage can be. There has never been a more important time to preserve a fragile industry overshadowed by other dominating beverages and through her proactivity and passion there is a lot we can thank her for in preserving that cultural heritage outside of Japan. I’ve always trusted Sandra in being able to provide the best experience and knowledge to her customers in regards to not only sake, but also Japanese whisky, plum wines, shōchū and many more wonderful beverages.
