Our family took a snowshoeing adventure with Jessica Bjorkman over March break this year, and wow, what a difference it made having her as a guide. Our family goes exploring outdoors in all seasons, but it can be challenging to know where to go, how far to go, and what there might be to see. Her knowledge of the bush, her positivity, her top-notch technical snowshoes made our afternoon a very enjoyable, challenging and experience! Our kids, 16 and 11, found Jessica's knowledge of animal tracks, ax skills, and prospecting stories engaging (and useful!). She chose a route perfectly suited to our energy level, curiosity and strength - bushwacking out to a cliff to climb for a good view, before striking out to a beautiful pond tucked away several hills in from a remote logging road. She taught us how make a bonfire on the pond, and we roasted sausages for lunch under a bright blue sky. She provided the hot drinks (complete with fancy whipped cream for the kids' hot chocolate!), and the marshmallows for roasting! Snowshoeing with Jessica added to our technical skills on the snow, and we learned more about surviving in the bush, and another way to enjoy being outside in the winter. Her fees are very reasonable given the care, attention to detail and time she puts in to tailoring her offerings to guests' experience and wishes - her presence adds great value to a winter day outside in a gorgeous corner of Northwestern Ontario.
